Mental Health Foundation: Day 9 - September 21st

On day 9 at MHFA, I've got a list of tasks I need to do today. The main thing is that I need to finalise one of the video projects for the Migrants Wellbeing forum on 24th of October. Nithya had told me to delay the work on the Small Business video to next week and focus on completing the Migrants video by today. Other than that, I've got other small tasks to complete which are small.

First of all, there was a problem with the video file of one of the episodes that I edited which is episode 4 (Gary's Journey) of the Empowering Voices of Harmony podcast. I've deleted the file from the folder and re-uploaded the file and made sure with everyone that it works. I've also talked to Matt who is the director of the podcast to review episode 5 of the podcast in order to get it ready for distribution. When he gave the green light, I've shown it to Nithya and Vasan (CEO) for their feedback and they said it was good to go.

Working on the migrants wellbeing video, I've been in contact with Euan through Teams who is working on this video with me while he is working from home. From the last draft that we did in the last 2 weeks, Nithya gave feedback that she wanted more text and information on the screen as moving graphics or animated text that shows up on screen when the statistics is said. Another feedback was that the video needs to be cohesive in terms of colours since the animation that Euan did was mostly in blue colour, it needs to be more pink to match with the Migrant Wellbeing poster.

I then went ahead and discussed with Euan about the changes that need to be made in terms of the animations that he made. First of all, the colour of the background is blue which needs to be switched to a more pink-ish tone to match the colour theme of the event. The statistics part should also contain more text and information visible on screen. Euan took these feedback, worked on it, and got back to me with the fixed changes.

After receiving the video, I showed it to Nithya and Vasan for feedback and finalisation. They both loved the new animation but Vasan wanted the Australian flag graphic to show photos of the organisation's ambassadors and attaches instead of just country flags since he thought it would look better and make it more appealing.

After receiving the feedback, I forwarded it to Euan for him to re-animate the Australian flag sequence according to Vasan's feedback. After he was done animating, I took it and finalised the video by doing some colour grading on the stock footages to add a red-ish pink tint, adding more text on screen, and re-designing the poster in the video to have more information and graphic visuals.

After finalising the video, I've shown it to Nithya and Vasan to get their final approval of this video. They loved it and approved the video to be ready for distribution. I then showed Euan the finished video and he loved the result as well. All that said, the video was finalised and rendered and is now approved.
